mu.dac - museum of design and applied arts contemporary

The mu- dac of Lausanne exists since 1967 in its actual form. The main activity is dedicated to the organisation of temporary exhibitions which belong to the field of contemporary applied arts, that is graphic design and illustration, architecture and landscape- architecture, fashion and on the other hand ceramics, glass and textile art.Eclectic, these exhibitions are focused on contemporary expression as it appears today in Switzerland as well as on international level.

Generally,the exhibitions are conceived by the museum, sometimes in collaboration with other institutions who work in the same field; sometimes they are based on national or international exhibitions exchanges. The exhibitions of this museum are very seldom one- man shows, because the museum wants to be a place for exchange and confrontation between artists from different cultures and ways of thinking, who are asked to treat the same theme.
